RIVERDALE., N.Y. - Manhattan men's soccer fell to first-place Iona this afternoon at Gaelic Park, 2-0, in the final regular season match of the season.
"We felt like we had some good control of the game today and created chances to score but couldn't quite take them," said head coach
Jorden Scott. "Now that the regular season is done we look forward to the playoffs where it's win or go home and we will be ready to give everything we have."
Iona scored the first goal of the match in the 55th minute to the low right. With less than 30 seconds left in the match, the Gaels scored again, this time down the center, to close out the match with a 2-0 victory.
Ziv Dahan led all Jaspers with three shot attempts, while
Gunnar Studenhofft and
Tony Yeboah attempted two apiece.
Danny DiMarco made four saves in the match.
Manhattan (6-7-3, 6-3-1 MAAC) will continue play with a MAAC Tournament match on Sunday. Opponent and time are TBD.
