The Manhattan women's soccer team will continue MAAC play on Saturday, October 7, when it travels to Lawrenceville, for an afternoon contest with Rider.
The Path: The Jaspers are coming off of a 2-1 victory at Iona. Prior to that, Manhattan took a 1-0 defeat against Marist. Manhattan is now 3-4-3 overall, and 2-1-2 in conference play for the 2023 season.
Leading the Way: Kaitlyn Cooke has scored two goals for the Jaspers, while five players have scored one goal apiece in what has been a balanced scoring attack for Manhattan. Margaret Brunk has made 45 saves at the goalkeeper spot after facing 58 shots.Â
All-Time Series: Manhattan is 7-12-4 all time against Rider. The Jaspers took a 1-0 defeat at Gaelic Park, in their most recent matchup in 2022.
Rider: Rider is 4-6-1 to start the season, including 2-3 in conference play. This past week they took a 1-0 home defeat to Quinnipiac, followed by a 3-1 road victory at Saint Peter's.
MAAC Standings: In what is currently a bunched up MAAC standings, the Jaspers currently sit at third place, with a conference record of 2-1-2. Rider, just two points behind the Jaspers sit in eight place with their record of 2-3. Thus, with five games remaining, every contest moving forward is crucial for the Jaspers in securing a spot in the MAAC Tournament.
