RIVERDALE, N.Y.- Manhattan swept Rider on the road, achieving their third sweep of the season. The final set scores were 25-23, 25-15, and 25-22.
The Jaspers won three straight sets today against Rider. This win secured their fourth consecutive victory and brought their record to 5-8 in the MAAC.
The Jaspers had their strongest set in the second, beating the Broncs by 10 points. The Jaspers' offense completely overwhelmed the Broncs in the second set, allowing the Broncs to score only one point for every three points the Jaspers scored. The strongest push from the Jaspers came in the middle of the set when they went on an 8-2 run, putting the Jaspers up 19-10.
In the third and final set, both teams played on an equal level. However, the Jaspers came out on top against the Broncs, winning the set 25-22 after scoring three straight points.
Leading the Jaspers' offense was
Maike Bertens, who had another strong game, scoring 17 kills and recording eight digs.
Sarah Emmons once again led the team in assists with 35.
Manhattan plays again on Sunday, October 29th, at 1:00 p.m. against Saint Peter's University in Jersey City, N.J.
