Vs Quinnipiac
Time: 7 p.m.
The Manhattan women's soccer team wraps up regular season play on October 25, when they host conference leaders Quinnipiac in a Wednesday evening contest.
The Path: The Jaspers are coming off of a 2-1 victory at Saint Peter's, having lost 2-1 vs Niagara before that. Manhattan is now 4-7-3 overall, and 3-4-2 in conference play for the 2023 season.
Leading the Way: Sami Derrico has scored three goals for the Jaspers, Kaitlyn Cooke has scored two, and six players have scored one goal in what has been a balanced scoring attack for Manhattan. Margaret Brunk has made 77 saves at the goalkeeper spot after facing 96 shots.Â
All-Time Series: Manhattan is 6-5-3 all time against Quinnipiac. The Jaspers took a 5-1 road loss in their most recent matchup in 2022.
Quinnipiac: Quinnipiac is 11-3 thus far this season, including 9-0 in conference play. This past week they won 8-0 vs Saint Peter's and 1-0 vs Mount Saint Mary's.
Standings: With one game remaining on the schedule, Manhattan is in 7th place in the MAAC, sitting two points out of a tournament spot. However, the Jaspers can secure a spot in the MAAC tournament with a win Wednesday, as Mount Saint Mary's and Rider, who are both two points ahead of the Jaspers, are playing each other in their season finale, with Manhattan advancing even in the event of a three-way tie, due to their win over Mount Saint Mary's earlier in the season.Â
