Box Score NIAGARA, N.Y. - The Manhattan College men's soccer team suffered its first loss in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference play with a 1-0 defeat at Niagara.
"I am beyond proud of the boys and how they have performed this week," said head coach Jorden Scott. "Two road games during midterm exams is a tremendous challenge and we showed in both games how determined we are to succeed. Today we had 20 shots but just couldn't find the back of the net against a tough opponent. We are excited about coming home to play 3 of our last 4 games at Gaelic Park before playoffs."
It was an 0-0 match at the half with the Jaspers recording six shots, having three corners and making two saves.
In a heated up and down battle on the field, it was Niagara (2-7-3, 2-2-2 MAAC) that scored the lone goal of the match. Sixty seven minutes into the match, the Purple Eagles were able to score the game-winning goal and hand Manhattan its first league loss snapping a four match win streak for the Jaspers.
Danny DiMarco finished the match with three saves. The Jaspers outshot Niagara, 20-7.
Manhattan (5-5-2, 5-1-0 MAAC) returns home on Wednesday, Oct. 18 at 6 p.m. versus Saint Peter's.
