Jaspers Fall in Dual Meet at Fairfield

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Manhattan women's swimming and diving team fell to Fairfield on Saturday. The final score was 243-28.
 
For individual races, Kyla Guilfoil placed third in the 100-meter backstroke with a final time of 1:09.88, .93 seconds behind second place. Guilfoil came home fourth (2:31.91) in the 200-meter back stroke. Guilfoil scored five points for the women with those two finishes. Abbey Mink placed second in the 50-meter freestyle with a final time of 27.83, with first place only .03 seconds ahead, and finished third in the 100-meter free (1:02.73). Mink's finishes added seven points to the Jaspers' total. MacKenzie Tuttle scored four points for Manhattan with a fourth-place finish in the 100-meter breast stroke and fifth in the 200-meter IM. 
 
For the relay events, Manhattan placed fourth in the 200-meter medley relay with a finishing time of 2:09.58, scoring two points for the Jaspers. Manhattan also finished third in the 200-meter freestyle relay with a final time of 1:55.97, which scored another two points for the Jaspers.
 
The Jaspers race again for their last meet of the regular season, Saturday, Jan 28 at 1 p.m., against Iona at the Horace Mann School in Riverdale, N.Y.
