LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. – The Manhattan golf team finished ninth at the 2022 MAAC Championship after concluding the third and final round on Sunday at the Disney Magnolia Course.
The Jaspers finished with a score of 939 (+75). Rider claimed the team title with a score of 873 (+9). Rider's Austin Devereux won the individual title with a 213 (-3).
In the third round on Sunday, the Jaspers posted their best score of the weekend with a 305 (+17).
Sunday saw three Jaspers shot in the 70s.
Jimmy Escoto paced the team with a 73 (+1). The senior shot an even-par 36 on the back nine, including three birdies.
Sam Taraian had his best weekend round with a 74 (+2). The Rehoboth, Mass. native went out in 1-under 35 with two birdies and a bogey.
Colby Norton shot a 78 (+6). Norton went out in 36 (E) before bogeying five holes on the back nine.
Lincoln Haymaker and
Tyler Nguyen shot 80 (+8) and 81 (+9) to round out the order for the Jaspers.
Norton finished the three-day championship in T29 (+14) to be the top finisher for the Jaspers. Escoto was one shot back in T31. Taraian finished in T37 (+19), and Haymaker was 42
nd (+31).
