OLD BROOKVILLE, N.Y. – The Manhattan golf team finished the first day of the Shark Invitational in seventh after 36 holes.
The Jaspers posted 298 (+14) in the first and second rounds on Monday. Manhattan is three shots behind Hartford for sixth. LIU is on top of the team leaderboard at 572 (+4).
Jimmy Escoto is T9 and is the top individual for the Jaspers. Escoto posted rounds of 71 and 74 to finish at +3 after two rounds. Escoto is tied with seven other players at +3.
Two shots behind Escoto in T19 is
Sam Taraian. The senior went 75, 72 to finish at 147 (+5).
Colby Norton moved up nine spots to T28 after shooting a 74 (+3) in round two after firing a 77 (+6) in round one on Monday.
Tyler Nguyen sits at 155 (+9) in a tie for 39
th, and
Lincoln Haymaker is in 51
st after 36 holes at 159 (+17).
The Jaspers and the other seven teams return to Brookville Country Club tomorrow for the third and final round.
