Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

Davis Records Double-Double at Duquense

PITTSBURGH, Pa. – The Manhattan women's basketball team suffered a road defeat at the hands of Duquesne in a non-conference matchup, 67-46.

The Jaspers fall to 0-3 while the Dukes improve to 3-0.

Dee Dee Davis was the star of the game despite the Green and White suffering the loss. At the end of the first quarter, the Jaspers were down 22-11 and Davis dropped all 11 of those points.

Davis continued to supply all the offense until the midway point through the second quarter, when Emily LaPointe connected on a deep ball off a pass from Davis (28-18).

In the third quarter, Manhattan got within striking distance. Davis connected on three consecutive threes on consecutive possessions and Narrie Dodson followed her up a pair of free throws to cut the lead to five, 40-35. However, the Dukes responded with a 12-3 run to close out the third quarter, making the score 53-38.

Davis finished the game with her first collegiate double-double, finishing the contest with 28 points and 11 rebounds in 37 minutes. Jade Blagrove secured seven rebounds to go along with four points.

Duquense was paced by Ayanna Towsend, who concluded this afternoon's game with 15 points and seven rebounds.

Manhattan returns to Draddy Gym for their next game, welcoming Howard to Riverdale on Saturday, Nov. 19. Before the game, Davis will be honored for recording 1,000 career points, a mark she surpassed last season.
