RIVERDALE, N.Y. – The Manhattan men's soccer team's final week of competition is upon them, traveling to Saint Peter's on Wednesday and welcoming Niagara to Gaelic Park for senior day and the regular season finale on Saturday.
The Jaspers are off next Wednesday, the final day of the regular season.
Manhattan enters the week leading the MAAC with 17 points and a record of 7-4-4 overall and 5-1-2 in league play.
The first test will be Saint Peter's, who is 1-5-1 in the MAAC, with that lone win coming last week, 1-0 over Siena.
The Jaspers' final regular season test has the Purple Eagles landing at Gaelic Park for senior day. Niagara is in the hunt for the MAAC Championship, entering the week with a record of 4-8-3 overall and 3-2-2 in the MAAC. Niagara had a strong start to conference play, opening with a 3-0-1 stretch but it has cooled down since then.
As for the Green and White, they are coming off a 1-0-1 week which featured a scoreless battle with Quinnipiac at Gaelic Park on Wednesday and a 3-1 win on the road at Canisius on Saturday.
Henry Hamilton was one of the catalysts in the team's 3-1 win. Hamilton assisted on the go-ahead goal by
Ronaldo Da Silva, then sealed the game by converting his fourth penalty kick of the year. The four conversions rank Hamilton second in Division I.
The Jaspers have defended Gaelic Park exceptionally well, owning a record of 5-0-2 at Gaelic Park. Manhattan has outscored their opponents 13-2 at home, including an impressive five shutouts.
Daniel Polakowski earned his first collegiate win last week as he presided over the Canisius victory.
