RIVERDALE, N.Y. – Manhattan men's swim and dive team falls to St. Francis Brooklyn with a final score of 199-47
Saturday's meet marked the first home meet for Manhattan since Jan. 26, 2020. The dual meet took place at the Jeffrey H. Loria Family Aquatic Center
"It was exciting to have our first home meet in nearly two years, I along with the kids were very excited to have the opportunity to compete at the Jeffrey H. Loria Family Aquatic Center," said head coach Eric Rassmuen Jr. "For an early season meet we swam very well. It's the time of year where there's a lot of kids getting sick, so we had a few kids out and some not performing at 100%."
In individual races,
Joe Brennan came in second place in the 50-yard freestyle with a final time of 22.39, trailing 0.20 seconds behind first place. For the 100-yard backstroke,
Abelardo Cartagena came in second with a time of 56.99, scoring the Jaspers four points.
Branden Deiss placed second in the 500-yard freestyle in 5:06.11.

For relays, the Jaspers placed third in the 200-yard medley relay with a final time of 1:40.65.
Andrew Lebak,
Joe Brennan, Cartagena, and Islam Yousri were the quartet for the Jaspers.
Manhattan swims again on Friday, Nov. 11, at 3 p.m. against Monmouth in West Long Branch, N.J.
