Jaspers Host Pair of MAAC Contests

RIVERDALE, N.Y. – The Manhattan men's soccer team is set to continue its MAAC schedule with a pair of home contests against newcomer to the conference Mount St. Mary's and Marist.

Manhattan enters the week with a record of 4-4-3, 2-1-1 in the MAAC, and currently sit in a four-way tie for second with seven points. The other teams in the deadlock are the Mount, Niagara and Iona.

The week opens with the Mount, a team that the Jaspers have never seen before. Currently, the Mountaineers sit at 6-4-1 and 2-1-1 in the conference. Most recently, they played to a 2-2 draw with Niagara. The Mount did fall to Fairfield 1-0, a team the Green and White beat last week by the same score.

As for the Red Foxes, last year's MAAC Champions sport a record of 5-5-1 and a MAAC mark of 1-3.

The Jaspers have continued to use a spread offensive attack to get the job done. Last week, the goals were supplied by Henry Hamilton and Gunnar Studenhofft, both of whom sit tied for second on the team with three goals. Johan Velez paces the Green and White with four goals thus far.

Danny DiMarco continues to be a steady presence in the net for the Jaspers, having a GAA of .59, a save percentage of .808 and a record of 4-1-3.
