LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. – The Jaspers continued MAAC conference play with a loss at Siena in Loudonville. Despite a hard-fought battle, Siena outpaced Manhattan, 53-47. The Jaspers overall record is now 9-6 and 4-2 in league play.
In the 44th meeting between the teams, the Jaspers would strike first in the first quarter leading 13-11. The Jaspers were able to grab 11 rebounds and two steals in the first ten minutes of play.
Continuing their defensive prowess during the rest of the half, Manhattan hit the boards hard, outrebounding the Saints 23 to 15, with 15 of those coming on the defensive end. The Green and White added three steals in the first half. Additionally, the Jaspers took advantage of their size, adding eight points from inside the paint during the half. The Jaspers ended the half trailing 33-32.
In a competitive second half, the Jaspers fought a defensive battle. The Green and White proved why they are a top rebounding team in the MAAC, finishing the game outrebounding the Saints, 51-39. The Jaspers were able to create 14 turnovers and convert them into 11 points. The green and white shared the wealth in scoring, completing the game with six different players scoring for the Jaspers. Despite this, the Jaspers fell by six to the Saints 53-47.
The Jaspers were led by sophomore forward Jade Blagrove, who scored a career-high 14 points, added seven rebounds, and a steal.
In defeat, graduate student captain Courtney Warley continued the trend on the Jaspers' offense, registering nine points, 15 rebounds, and two blocks. Junior captain Dee Dee Davis proved to be a leader on the court and finished the game with ten points, two assists, and a steal. Junior forward

The Saints were led by Third Team All-MAAC Preseason selection Rayshel Brown, the graduate student guard finished the game with ten points and an assist. Sophomore guard Ahniysha Jackson ended with eleven points for the Saints.
The Jaspers will return to play in the MAAC play on Thursday at 5 p.m. in Bridgeport, Conn. taking on the Fairfield Stags.
