Championship Notes:
- Manhattan will participating in the MAAC Women's Lacrosse Championship for the 10th time, and for the second-straight full season.
- The Jaspers are the No. 6 seed for the first time in program history.
- Manhattan holds an all-time record of 6-6 in nine previous trips to the MAAC Championship, winning the title three times in 2000, 2004 and 2005.
- The Jaspers will be looking for their first victory in tournament play since defeating Siena for the 2005 MAAC Championship.
- With a win, Manhattan would snap a four-game MAAC Championship losing streak.
- In their last MAAC Champioinship action, the Jaspers dropped a 15-14 heartbreaker to Marist in2019 first round action at Gaelic Park.
- Senior Alaina Burgess scored two goals, while junior Grace Lipponer had a goal and an assist against the Red Foxes in 2019.
- Graduate student Amanda Silvestri, senior Carmella Liscio and junior Annie Freshour also played in the Marist game.
- Manhattan and Monmouth have never met in the MAAC Tournament.
Monmouth Notes:
- Monmouth took both meetings between the teams, winning 15-11 on April 18, and 14-8 on April 16.
- Burgess (6 goals, 2 assists), Liscio (6 goals) and Lipponer (4 goals, 1 assist) paced the Jaspers in the regular season over two games against the Hawks, combining for 16 of the Green & White's 19 scores.
- Since Monmouth entered the MAAC in 2013-14, Manhattan is 0-8 against the Hawks.
- The Hawks are led by 2021 MAAC Offensive Player of the Year Nicole Ceraso, who registered 20 goals and 35 assists this season.
Player Notes:
- Lipponer earned All-MAAC Second Team honors after scoring a team-best 31 goals, with a team-high matching 38 points.
- During the current three-game winning streak, Lipponer is averaging 5.0 points per game with 11 goals and adding four assists and was reconized by the MAAC for her strong play as the Offensive Player of the Week.
- Also lauded by the MAAC was sophomore goalkeeper Ashley Gambardella, who went went a perfect 3-0 on the week thanks to posting a 8.67 GAA and a .544 save percentage.
- Burgess matched Lipponer with 38 points, on the strength of 27 goals and 11 assists.
- Lipponer has 62 goals and 23 assists for her career, while Burgess has 68 goals and 15 assists.
- Liscio scored a season-high 17 goals, while junior Meghan Rodino had 15 goals with seven assists.
- The has quartet accounted for 78.3 percent (90-of-115) of Manhattan's goals this season.
- Sophomore Jillian Reiner earned MAAC All-Rookie Team honors, scoring three goals with six assists.
- Gambardella notched a .443 save percentage with a 12.70 GAA and a team-best 25 ground balls.
- Sophomore Andrea Liotta had a team-best 31 draw controls with 16 ground balls and 10 caused turnovers.
- Liotta was named MAAC Defensive Player of the Week earlier in the year after notching six ground balls and 11 draw controls with three forced turnovers against MAAC Regulalr Season Champiion Fairfield.
- Silvestri had a team-leading 11 forced turnovers.
Coach Jenna Dingler:
- Is in her second year as the head coach of the women's lacrosse program.
- Made an immediate splash in 2020, as Manhattan posted a thrilling overtime victory against La Salle in the season opener, along with wins over Detroit Mercy and Sacred Heart.
- Dingler arrived in Riverdale after spending two seasons as the head coach at Division II Caldwell College. During her time there, she oversaw the development of four All-Central Atlantic Athletic Conference (CAAC) selections.
- On the field, Dingler was a four-year standout and totaled 102 points with 89 goals at Lock Haven University. As a junior, she was named an IWLCA First Team All-American selection and helped lead the Bald Eagles to back-to-back NCAA Division II Championship game appearances and a pair of PSAC titles.
