Albany, NY - No. 5 Manhattan (4-6) will open up play at the MAAC Championship on Thursday, April 1 against No. 4 seed Rider at 5:00 pm at the Albany Capital Center.

Championship Notes:

• Manhattan will participating in the MAAC Volleyball Championship for the 15th time in program history.
• The Jaspers last competed in 2018, falling in three sets to Fairfield.
• Manhattan holds a combined 13-15 record, all-time, in MAAC Championship play, including 10-12 in the winner's bracket.
• The last Jasper win at the MAAC Championship came against Rider in 2015, as the Jaspers won in three sets.
• Manhattan has never been the No. 5 seed, but has played in the 4-5 match four times as the No. 4 seed, going 3-1 in those match-ups.
• All-time in quarterfinal action, the Jaspers are 5-2, winning in 2014, 2013, 2006, 2002 and 1998.
• The Green & White has twice captured MAAC Titles (2003 & 2002).
• With a win, Manhattan will face No. 8 Siena in the MAAC Semifinals.
• The Jaspers are 1-2, all-time, against the Saints during MAAC Championship play.
• Senior Erin Hoener, classmate Reyn Hoffman and junior Abby Wilde are the lone Jaspers with championship experience in 2018.

Player Notes:

• Hoener paced Manhattan in kills (2.80 kps), hitting (.333) and blocks (0.90 bps), while registering double-digits in kills on six occasions.
• She registered a career-high 24 kills, on .595 hitting, in the first of two wins at Iona.
• Senior Meagan Miller is second on the team with 2.07 kills each time out, on .172 hitting, while freshman Bianca Vieira is third with 2.05 kills per set.
• Wilde (6.12 aps) and freshman Camryn Paulson (5.24 aps) pace the setting unit, with each notching three double-doubles.
• Senior Kai Riner is averaging a team-best 4.29 digs per set, highlighted by a season-high 32 in a five-set thriller at Siena.
• Hoffman checks in with 2.93 digs per set.
• Both Riner and Hoffman have recorded double-digits in digs seven times.
• Against Rider, Hoener averaged 2.00 kills per set, on .393 hitting.
• At Siena, Vieira averaged 3.44 kills per set, on .233 hitting, with 3.0 digs per set.
• Hoener recorded 3.00 kills and 1.00 blocks per set while hitting at a .348 clip against the Saints.
• Riner averaged an impressive 6.00 digs per set vs. Siena.

Coach Egbert Notes:

• Lora (Sarich) Egbert is in her fourth year at Manhattan.
• Prior to arriving, she spent four seasons as the head coach at the University of Northwestern Ohio.
• She played collegiately at the University of Toledo, graduating in 2007 as the Rockets' all-time leader in digs (1,736), while also holding records for digs per set in a season (4.79 in 2005) and career (3.94).
