Manhattan Stuns Quinnipiac In Double-OT Thriller

Hamden, CT - Sometimes it's good to be first and last, as Manhattan posted a thrilling 2-1 double-overtime win over Quinnipiac at the QU Soccer & Lacrosse Field.

* The Jaspers are now 2-0-0, while the Bobcats fall to 1-1-1.

* Senior Lindsey Healy (Vernon, NJ / Pope John XXIII Regional) scored the game-winning goal in the 107th minute following a corner kick.

* Junior Kim Mains (Harriman, NY / Immaculate Heart Academy (NJ)) made seven saves in earning the win.

* The Green & White struck quickly to open the scoring, finding the back of the net in the second minute as senior Alexa Chapman (Morganville, NJ / Marlboro) scored off a pass from graduate student Tia Painilainen (Espoo, Finland / Arizona).

* Quinnipiac's Rebecca Cooke tied it up at 1-1 in the game's 48th minute.

* The Bobcats posted advantages in corner kicks (9-3), shots (20-8) and in shots on goal (8-3).
