Riverdale, NY -
Sophomore Kyle Gucwa (Pottstown, PA / Bishop Shanahan) scored five goals, while junior Brendan Krebs (East Williston, NY / Chaminade) made 15 saves in leading Manhattan to a dominating 11-7 win over Detroit Mercy.

* With the victory, the Jaspers move to a perfect 2-0 in the MAAC (2-1 overall) for the first time since the 2011 season, while the Titans fall to 1-1 in league play (1-2 overall).

* After Manhattan fell behind 3-0 to start the game, Gucwa scored twice before junior Liam Walshe (Commack, NY / Commack) tied it up at 3-3.

* The Titans would reclaim the lead and were up 5-4 early in the second half, when senior Jake Nicolosi (West Islip, NY / West Islip) responded with three-straight goals while sparking a game-changing 7-0 run that spanned the second, third and fourth periods.

* Gucwa also added three goals, the last of which gave the Jaspers an insurmountable 11-5 advantage with 12:34 remaining.

* Detroit Mercy would respond with two goals, but was unable to get any closer.

* Defensively, Luke Pacher (Williston Park, NY / Chaminade) turned in another outstanding performance with four ground balls while limiting the Titans' leading scorer Brett Erskine to just two goals on seven shots.

* Krebs made 10-of-15 saves after halftime en route to posting a sparking .682 save percentage.

* Manhattan will host Monmouth on Friday, March 26 at 6:00 pm.
