Manhattan Bested by Utah

Salt Lake City, UT – The Jaspers were overpowered by Pac-12 foe Utah, en route to a 62-96 loss on the road. Manhattan College's record falls to 6-3 overall.

In the first ever meeting between the Runnin' Utes and the Jaspers, the Jaspers struck first with a layup from senior forward Warren Williams (Kingston, Jamaica), but Utah's 58.3% shooting percentage on the game proved to be the decisive factor for the Runnin' Utes in the contest.

The Jaspers lineup came in strong, with bench players scoring 24 of the total points in today's game and the Manhattan defense forced ten turnovers. Manhattan would only amass a mere seven turnovers throughout the game.

Junior guard Romar Reid (Mount Vernon, NY) had a breakout performance for the Jaspers finishing the day with a team high and career high 15 points and shooting an impressive 55.6% from the floor. He would add four rebounds to his resume.

Williams would also score in double-digits with 11 points and include two rebounds. Senior forward Josh Roberts (Troy, AL) was the third Jasper to end the day with double-digit scoring, amassing 11 points and pulling down seven rebounds. Roberts would also aide the Jasper defense with three blocks.

Utah was led by junior center coming off the bench, Lahat Thioune (Dakar, Senegal) with a game, season and career high 16 points. He would add seven rebounds and an assist on the day.

Up next on the docket, Manhattan College will travel to South Carolina to take on Southern Charleston at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, December 20,
