Jaspers Beat College of Staten Island

Riverdale, NY - Manhattan rolled to a 84-45 win over the College of Staten Island on Thursday night at Draddy Gymnasium. Manhattan was led in scoring by Dee Dee Davis who finished with 16 points including seven in the first quarter en route to victory. 

*Davis shot 7-of-16 from the field and added four steals. Davis was named to the All-MAAC Second Team before the start of the season. 

*Manhattan only allowed five points in the first quarter and held the Dolphins to 16 points at halftime.

*Brazil Harvey-Carr dropped 13 points and registered seven rebounds in her Jasper debut after two seasons at Rhode Island. 

*Petra Juric and Bella Nascimento rounded out the double-digit scorers with 10 and 11 points respectively. The freshman duo impacted the game in other ways with Juric corralling 14 rebounds to cap off her double-double performance and Nascimento collecting four assists. 

*Christina Katsamouri turned in a scrappy performance with six points and six boards on an efficient 3-of-4 shooting. 

*Ashley Lambert led the Dolphins with 13 points and Jenalyse Alarcon chipped in 11 points. 

*The Jaspers return to Draddy on Tuesday night for a matchup against the St. Francis Brooklyn Terriers with tip-off slated for 7 p.m. The Jaspers play 10 non-conference games in total before the MAAC season starts with a trip to Niagara and Canisius on December 19 and 21.
