Riverdale, NY - Manhattan ripped off 11-straight points to start the game and never looked back in posting a 65-56 wire-to-wire win over Marist at Draddy Gymnasium.
The Jaspers improve to 12-14 and 8-9 in the MAAC, while the Red Foxes fall to 7-19 and 6-11 in the league.
Senior
Pauly Paulicap (Elmont, NY / Harcum College) was his usual self, registering 16 points, six rebounds and two blocks to lead the way for the Green & White.
Sophomore
Samir Stewart (Fort Lauderdale, FL / American Heritage) directed an efficient offense,while adding 13 points, on the strength of two big three pointers.
Manhattan started the game on the aforementioned 11-0 run thanks to seven points from Paulicap, before sophomore
Elijah Buchanan (Bronx, NY / Woodstock Academy (CT)) capped the scoring with a coast-to-coast steal and layup.
Marist would battle and cut it to 21-20, before senior
Tyler Reynolds (Syracuse, NY / Harcum College) hit a big three pointer to fuel a 7-0 spurt.
After the Red Foxes momentarily answered, Stewart canned three-straight free throws and sophomore
Tykei Greene (Queens, NY / Long Island Lutheran) a corner triple to cap a half-ending 13-2 run that put the Jaspers' halftime advantage at 34-22.
In the second half, the Red Foxes would hang around and get it to within five at 47-42, only to see sophomore
Warren Williams (Kingston, Jamaica / St. Benedict's Prep (NJ)) hit a layup and Stewart a triple on back-to-back possessions to push the advantage back out to double-digits at 52-42.
Marist would continue to scrap and trimmed the Manhattan lead to 59-53 with 1:25 to play, but was unable to get any closer as the Jaspers made 6-of-8 from the line down the stretch to put the game away.
Braden Bell scored a game-high 20 points off the bench to lead the way for the visitors, while Michael Cubbage finished with seven points, nine rebounds and seven assists.
The Jaspers shot 51.1 percent (23-of-45) from the floor, while posting advantages in on the glass (30-23), on points in the paints (21-15) and points off turnovers (21-15).

* Tonight's win was the 500th for
Steve Masiello as either a head coach, assistant or player.
* Manhattan is now 57-11 (.838) when limiting teams to less than 60 points under Masiello and 46-14 (.767) whe notching double-figures in steals.
* Masiello also matched former mentor Bobby Gonzalez for the most victories in Draddy Gymnasium with his 68th triumph in the building.
* The Jaspers snapped a four-game losing streak to the Red Foxes, and now lead the all-time series by a 34-21 count, with Masiello owning a 13-7 mark against the Poughkeepsie-based school.
* Paulicap registered double-figures in points for the team-leading 14th time and is second on the team in scoring (10.1 ppg).
* Manhattan is also now 15-2 over the last two years when Stewart registers double-figures in points.
* Greene rounded out the double-digit scorers with 12 points with four rebounds.
* Sophomore
Christian Hinckson (Queens, NY / Tilton School (NH)) had nine points and a team-high seven rebounds, with three assists and a steal.
