Philadelphia, PA – Drexel roared out the gate with the first five goals scored, and never looked back, defeating Manhattan 16-8 at Vidas Field in Philadelphia on Saturday.

Junior Alaina Burgess (Holden, MA / The Governor's Academy) notched two goals. Senior Caitie Pluta (Sykesville, MD / Century) started the second half in net for Manhattan and made six saves.

Burgess scored twice in three minutes to trim the Drexel lead to 5-2. Manhattan added another tally on senior Liz Toohey's (Garnet Valley, PA / Garnet Valley) first career goal with 26 seconds left in the half. Drexel led 10-3 at halftime.
