Philadelphia, PA – Drexel roared out the gate with the first five goals scored, and never looked back, defeating Manhattan 16-8 at Vidas Field in Philadelphia on Saturday.

Alaina Burgess (Holden, MA / The Governor's Academy) notched two goals. Senior
Caitie Pluta (Sykesville, MD / Century) started the second half in net for Manhattan and made six saves.
Burgess scored twice in three minutes to trim the Drexel lead to 5-2. Manhattan added another tally on senior
Liz Toohey's (Garnet Valley, PA / Garnet Valley) first career goal with 26 seconds left in the half. Drexel led 10-3 at halftime.
Manhattan closed the game strong four of the final six goals of the game, but Drexel's halftime margin proved too much to overcome.
Manhattan returns home next Saturday when the Jaspers host Bryant at Gaelic Park. Game time is set for 2 pm.

- Pluta's six saves were a career high.
