Volleyball Hosts Battle Of The Bronx

Riverdale, NY - Manhattan volleyball will host cross-borough rival Fordham in the teams' annual Battle of the Bronx Wednesday, September 18. The first serve will fly at 7:00 p.m. in Draddy Gymnasium. 

Match Notes:

• Wednesday's match will be the Jaspers' first home match-up of the 2019 season. 
• Manhattan is 2-7 on the year after three non-conference tournaments. The Rams sit at 6-3 overall and, like the Jaspers, have yet to start league play. 
• Freshman Lizzi Brown (Orlando, FL / Bishop Moore) currently leads Manhattan with 2.16 kills per set. The rookie has added 18 service aces this season, a team high and good for second in the conference.
• Meagan Miller (Oakville, ON / Oakville, Trafalgar) ranks fifth in the MAAC for hitting percentage, averaging .287 over nine matches. Fellow middle blocker Erin Hoener (St. Louis, MO / Incarnate Word) sits at seventh in the league for hitting percentage (.267). 
• Hoener also paces the Jaspers' defense, averaging 0.97 blocks per set and ranking fifth in the MAAC. 
• With 242 assists already on the season, Abby Wilde (Parkesburg, PA / Octorora) has positioned herself as the Jaspers' main setter, and she ranks sixth in the league with 7.33 assists per set.
• Libero Nashally Eleutiza (Orlando, FL / Monroe) ranks sixth in the MAAC for digs per set, averaging 3.64. 
• Fordham is coming off a 3-1 win against Dartmouth on September 14, when libero Morgan Williams broke the school single-match digs record, tallying 42. She was named A10 Defensive Player of the Week on September 16.
• McKenna Lahr and Olivia Fairchild lead the Rams' attack, each contributing 3.03 kills per set.
