Jacob Knight (Oakley, CA / Chabot CC) struck out six over 6.0 innings of one-run ball and freshman
David Moffett (Oneida, NY / Vernon-Verona-Sherrill Senior) went 2-for-4 with a RBI to lead Manhattan to a 2-1 win over Stony Brook in non-conference action at Dutchess Stadium.
The Jaspers improve to 18-27 while the America East-leading Seawolves fall to 24-17.
A scoreless battle through six innings, Manhattan finally broke through in the seventh inning with a single run. Sophomore
Jake Knop (Portland, ME / Portland) singled with one out, before taking second on a pass ball. Graduate student
Cam Crabbe (White Plains, NY / USF) pushed Knop to third with a single through the left side. Freshman
Jonathan Barditch (Miami, FL / Belen Jesuit Prep) was then plunked to load up the bases, and freshman
Sam Franco (Bardonia, NY / Clarkstown South) followed with a sacrifice fly to plate Knop with the game's first run.

The Jaspers added to the lead with an unearned run in the eighth as freshman
Nick Cimillo (Airmont, NY / Suffern) reached via an error to lead off the frame. He then moved to second when
Alex Cerda (Miami, FL / Florida Christian School) was plunked for the third time in the game. Sophomore
Matt Padre (Flemington, NJ / Hunterdon Central) pushed the pair to second-and-third with a sacrifice bunt, before Moffett delivered a RBI single to right in chasing home Cimillo while extending the lead out to 2-0.
In he top of the ninth, Stony Brook made things interesting as Brandon Alamo rapped a one-out double, before coming around to score Dylan Resk's RBI single back up the middle. However, Knight hunkered down and struck out the next two batters to close out the victory.
Knight surrendered just three hits and two walks in moving to 2-2 on the year. Sophomore RHP
Teddy Sabato (Rye Brook, NY / UNC) started and fanned four over 3.0 scoreless innings of two-hit ball.
Cerda also walked to go along with being plunked three times en route to reaching base safely in all four trips to plate to highlight a five-hit offense.
Alamo was 2-for-3 with a double, run and walk to lead the way for the visitors. RHP Ben Fero (3-1) was saddled with the loss, surrendering a run on two hits over 3.0 innings.
Manhattan will return to MAAC play on Friday, May 3 at 12:30 pm at Rider.
