West Long Branch, NJ -
Fueled by two dominant pitching performances, Manhattan swept a doubleheader from Monmouth by scores of 5-2 and 6-2.

The Jaspers improve to 17-26 and 10-4 in the MAC while the Hawks fall to 17-25-1 and 5-9 in the league.

Freshman Nick Cimillo (Airmont, NY / Suffern) went 4-for-7 with five RBI to pace the offense on the day, while extending his hitting streak to 14 games.

Game Two
The Jaspers took game two by a 6-2 count, as junior RHP T.J. Stuart (Milford, CT / Joseph A. Foran) struck out six over 7.0 solid innings of two-run ball in moving to 5-4 with his fifth complete game of the year.

Monmouth opened the scoring with a single run in the bottom of the third, only to see Manhattan answer with a run of its own in the fourth. Cimillo led off with a single before moving to third on an error and scoring on a David Moffett (Fr., Oneida, NY / Vernon-Verona-Sherrill Senior) sacrifice fly.

The Jaspers then took control of the game with three runs in the fifth as Cimillo delivered a sacrifice fly, before junior Alex Cerda (Miami, FL / Florida Christian School) and sophomore Matt Padre (Flemington, NJ / Hunterdon Central) rapped out RBI singles to push the advantage out to 4-1.

Cimillo would cap the scoring for Manhattan in the sixth inning with a two-run single.

The Hawks loaded up the bases in the bottom of the frame, but were unable to score, before finally getting one back in the seventh to provide the final 6-2 score.

Cimillo was 2-for-3 with three RBI and a run to lead the way for the Jaspers.

Five different Monmouth players had two hits.

After Monmouth scored the game's first run in the second inning, the Jaspers responded with two runs in the top of the third. Cimillo opened the scoring for the visitors with a two-out, two-run single.

Manhattan added three runs in the top of the fifth inning in extending the lead out to 5-1. Freshman Sam Franco (Bardonia, NY / Clarkstown South) led off with a double, and graduate student Shawn Blake (Stratford, CT / Elon) and Cimillo each walked to load up the bases with no outs. Cerda was then plunked to force in a run, before Padre recorded a RBI fielder's choice grounder and sophomore Jake Knop (Portland, ME / Portland) a sacrifice fly.

The Hawks would get one run back in the ninth, but nothing more in falling by the aforementioned 5-2 count.
