Jimmy Joyce added to the Pride lead with a solo home run in the top of the fifth inning, before Manhattan finally broke through in the bottom part of the frame. Freshman Jacob Radziewicz (Middletown, CT / Middletown) led off with his first collegiate hit, a single through the left side, before classmate Jonathan Barditch (Miami, FL / Belen Jesuit Prep) doubled down the left field line and freshman Sam Franco (Bardonia, NY / Clarkstown South) walked to load up the bases with no outs.

Graduate student Shawn Blake (Stratford, CT / Elon) followed with a sacrifice fly to deep right field to plate Radziewicz for the first Jasper run of the game.

Manhattan would threaten to further dent the lead, but was unable to do so in stranding a pair of runners on the bases in three of the final four frames.

All 10 Jasper position players reached base, including seven that hit safely. Palma had two hits while Barditch and freshman Nick Cimillo (Airmont, NY / Suffern) doubled to highlight the top performers.

Junior RHP Alexis Calderon (Bethlehem, PA / Liberty) was solid on the bump, striking out three over 5.0 innings of one-run relief. Senior RHP Matt Jones (Haddonfield, NJ / Haddonfield Memorial) then finished out the game with a scoreless inning of relief.

Anthony D'Onofrio had two hits to lead that way on offense for Hofstra, while RHP Steven Boscia earned the win, firing 3.0 scoreless inning of two-hit ball.

Manhattan will play at Wagner on Wednesday, April 24 at 6:00 pm.
