Washington, D.C. - Manhattan softball heads to the national capital this weekend for the 2019 Colonial Classic, where they will play four contests against Cornell and host George Washington University. The first game, against Cornell, will being at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 9.Â

- The Jaspers are 2-3 so far this season after a trip to the 2019 Madeira Beach Invitational.Â
- Manhattan faced Cornell (0-5) in their last game in Madeira Beach, using an eight-run fifth inning to secure a comeback victory over the Big Red. Adriana Gambino (Stamford, CT / Westhill) went 3-4 in the game, with two RBI, while Christine Gebhardt (Middletown, NJ / Middletown, North) earned a team-high three RBI on two hits.Â
- Cornell's offense is led by Emily McKinney, currently batting .400 on the season. She has hit two doubles this season, with a slugging percentage of .600 and an on-base percentage of .400.
- Lisa Nelson carries a team-best 7.50 ERA for Cornell, holding opponents to a batting average of .283.
- George Washington (13-3) is on a three-game win streak, defeating UNC Greensboro and Howard twice.Â
- Two Colonials are batting .500 on the season: Sierra Lange and Mia Parker. Lange has nabbed a team-best six doubles so far this year, and earned a slugging percentage of .750.

- Freshman Annie Moore (Northridge, CA / El Camino Real) has scored a team-best five runs in five games. She has seven hits in her first collegiate outings, collecting five RBI. Gebhardt and Pitney have earned a team-best six RBI.Â
- From the pitcher's circle, veteran Stephanie Kristo (San Jose, CA / Archbishop Mitty) holds the Jaspers' lowest ERA at 3.09, holding batters to a .270 batting average. She is 1-1 on the year.
- Freshman Jessie Rising (Little Egg Harbor, NJ / Pinelands) has pitched the most innings for Manhattan at 13.1, striking out seven along the way.
