Fairfax, VA -
Manhattan posted a come-from-behind 3-2 win over George Mason in the nightcap, after dropping a 4-3 decision in the opener.

The Patriots are now 8-5 while the Jaspers are 4-8.

Game Two
Sophomore Matt Padre's (Flemington, NJ / Hunterdon Central) two-run, pinch-hit single in the ninth lifted Manhattan to a 3-2 win over George Mason in the series finale.

In the decisive ninth inning, junior Alex Cerda (Miami, FL / Florida Christian Prep) led off with an epic 13-pitch at-bat that resulted in a leadoff single. He would move to second on a Sam Franco (Fr., Bardonia, NY / Clarkstown South) single before Cam Crabbe (GS, White Plains, NY / USF) drew a walk to load up the bases. Padre then greeted reliever RHP Michael Yuille with the aforementioned two-run single to provide the winning margin.

Senior RHP Joe DiTorrice (Montgomery, NJ / Montgomery) earned the win, striking out four over 3.0 perfect innings of relief.

The Jaspers outhit the Patriots by a 7-3 margin, led by Franco, who went 2-for-4 with two runs.

Trailing 2-0 after four innings, Manhattan finally dented the scoreboard in the fifth. Franco led off with a double before moving to third on a wild pitch and came around to score on a Crabbe sacrifice fly.

Junior RHP T.J. Stuart (Milford, CT / Joseph A. Foran) started and yielded two runs, on three hits, with two strikeouts over 6.0 innings in earning a no-decision.

Game One
Bailey Klein's walk-off RBI single lifted George Mason to a 4-3 walk-off victory over Manhattan in game one.

The Jaspers had their opportunities, but left 13 runners on base.

George Mason opened the scoring with three runs in the bottom of the second inning as Tim Quinn and Alejanadro Aponte delivered RBI doubles, before Aponte scampered in to score on a wild pitch.

Manhattan threatened in each of the first four innings, before finally breaking through in the fifth.

Graduate student Shawn Blake (Stratford, CT / Elon) led off the frame with a double while extending his season-opening hitting streak to 11 games. Reigning MAAC Player and Rookie of the Week freshman Nick Cimillo (Airmont, NY / Suffern) followed with a single, before junior Dominica Palma (Hilton, NY / Hilton) drew a four-pitch walk. Padre followed with a sacrifice fly to plate Blake, but unfortunately that would be it for the visitors.

After evading a bases-loaded situation in the bottom part of the inning, the Jaspers tied the game up at 3-3 in the sixth when Blake hit a two-run double to left center, scoring freshman Keury Abreu (Bronx, NY / St. Raymond) and Franco.

Graduate student LHP John Cain (Middletown, NY / Lafaeytte) exited after 6.0 innings, striking out six while yielding three runs on seven hits and three walks.

Manhattan had opportunities in each of its final three trips to the plate, but was unable to take advantage.

Blake went 3-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, a run and a walk while Cimillo and freshman Jonathan Barditch (Miami, FL / Belen Jesuit Prep) also rapped out a pair of hits to pace a Jasper attack that registered 11 in the game.

Aponte was 2-for-4 with a double, two RBI and a run to lead the way for the Patriots while RHP James Beasley worked 2.1 scoreless innings to earn the win.
