Game Notes:
Last Outing
The Jaspers (9-17, 7-8 MAAC) won their second Iona match-up of the season February 22, grinding out a 54-52 victory over the Gaels at the Hynes Center. Down one with 22 seconds to go, sophomore guard
Lynette Taitt (Irvington, NJ / Bishop Loughlin) sank a jumper in the key to put the Jaspers on top 51-50. On the next play, Manhattan forced a huge five-second call in the Gaels' half court to regain possession. Taitt was fouled on the inbound play and sent to the line, where she hit both to go up 53-50. Iona's Juana Camilion cut the lead to one with a layup on the other end, but the Gaels were forced to foul Hoier on the subsequent inbound in an attempt to regain the ball. Hoier went 1-2, giving the Jaspers a two-point cushion. Camilion missed a jumper to tie, with time expiring as the rebound was batted around.
