Jaspers Travel To Iona For MAAC Rematch

New Rochelle, NY - Manhattan volleyball will make the short trip to MAAC rival Iona Saturday, November 9 as the Jaspers face the Gaels for the second time this season. First serve will be at 1:00 pm.

Match Notes:

• In the first meeting of the team's on October 12, the Jaspers (6-21, 3-11 MAAC) lost in three sets to the Gaels (4-21, 4-11 MAAC) in Draddy Gymnasium. The Jaspers are 3-5 since then, while Iona has gone 2-6 in the past month.
• Junior middle blocker Erin Hoener (St. Louis, MO / Incarnate Word) currently leads the MAAC in blocks (82) and blocks per set (0.96). She ranks ninth in the MAAC for hitting percentage (.277).
• Sophomore Vivian Donovan (Newport Harbor, CA / Newport Harbor) leads the Jaspers with 2.70 kills per set, while contributing 2.44 digs per set, as well. 
• Libero Nashally Eleutiza (Orlando, FL / Monroe) is the reigning MAAC Libero of the Week, earning the honor on Tuesday after averaging 6.25 digs per set this past week. She earned a perfect reception percentage over two matches, committing no errors in 56 attempts. 
• As a team, the Jaspers are averaging 10.29 kills per set, and 13.93 digs per set.
• Iona is coming off a four-set victory over Saint Peter's on November 6. Three Gaels earned double-doubles in the match. 
• Jamie Smith is averaging 2.79 kills per set for Iona, while teammate Karla Johnson is hitting a team-high .283 (2.09 kills per set), adding a block per set, as well.
