Lawrenceville, NJ – The Manhattan Men's Soccer team (3-7-0; 2-1-0 MAAC) gears up for a busy week of MAAC play, as the Jaspers travel to New Jersey to take on Rider on Wednesday, October 16, before hosting Marist on Saturday, October 19.

Last Time Out: Iona scored in the 88th and 103rd minute to overcome a 1-0 deficit and defeat Manhattan 1-0. Junior
Moritz Riegel opened the scoring with his second goal of the season in the 72nd minute. Freshman
Hunter Kochiss made three saves in the loss.

Berti Fourrier is tied for the team lead with five points (1 goal, 3 assists). In his Jasper career, when Fourrier registers a point, Manhattan is 11-1.
Testing Yourself: Manhattan's six non-conference opponents are a combined 39-28-8 on the season. Three opponents (UConn, Rutgers, St. John's) have spent time ranked in the Top 25 by the United Soccer Coaches' Poll, with St. John's currently No. 7. Manhattan has the third highest RPI in the MAAC, having played five opponents in the Top 105.
Awana Has Class: Senior
Adrien Awana was selected as one of 30 candidates for 2019 Men's Soccer Senior CLASS® Award. To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must be classified as an NCAA Division I senior and have notable achievements in four areas of excellence: community, classroom, character and competition. An acronym for Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School ® the Senior CLASS Award focuses on the total student-athlete and encourages students to use their platform in athletics to make a positive impact as leaders in their communities. A 2018 All-MAAC first team selection, he will graduate this year with a degree in management and finished his first year in Riverdale with a 3.67 GPA, including a 3.87 mark in the spring semester. Series History:
Rider: Dating back to 1997, Rider has led the series 12-4-2, however Manhattan won last season's meeting in Riverdale 1-0 on an overtime goal from senior
Milan Devuyst. Manhattan last defeated the Broncs in Lawrenceville in 2012.
Marist: Since 1993, Marist leads the series 11-9-2. The Red Foxes captured last year's meeting 2-1 in Poughkeepsie, after blanking Marist by a 5-0 score in the teams' last match-up at Gaelic Park.
Scouting the Opposition:
- Rider: The reigning MAAC Champions went 6-4 in MAAC play and won the conference tournament, defeating Quinnipiac 2-1 in the MAAC championship game.
- In the NCAA Tournament, the Broncs fell to eventual College Cup finalist Akron by a 3-1 margin.
- Rider was slated third in the MAAC Coaches' Preseason Poll, and is 4-4-2, including 1-1-2 in the league.
- Pablo DeCastro and Clement Bourret lead the Broncs with 10 points (4 goals, 2 assists).
- Pablo Gatinois has appeared in nine contests, making 38 saves for a 1.34 GAA
- Marist: The Red Foxes were 8-5-5 in 2018, falling in the MAAC Conference Tournament semifinals to Quinnipiac in PKs.
