Volleyball Returns Home To Host Iona

Riverdale, NY - After playing three-straight on the road, Manhattan will host defending MAAC Champion Iona on Saturday, October 12 at 1:00 pm in the Jaspers' lone action of the weekend.

Match Notes: 

• Manhattan is 3-15 and 1-5 in MAAC play, having most recently defeated Quinnipiac in a five-set thriller on Sunday. Iona, meanwhile, is 1-15 and 1-5 in the MAAC.
• Sophomore Julia Menocal (Bronx, NY / Preston) led the way with a collegiate best 15 kills. Junior libero Nashally Eleutiza (Orlando, FL / Monroe) tallied a career-best 31 digs and freshman setter Julieanne McKee (Poughkeepsie, NY / Spackenkill) notched 42 assists. 
• Eleutiza is fifth in the MAAC with 4.25 digs per set in MAAC play, and third during conference play with 5.09 digs each time out.
• Junior Meagan Miller (Oakville, ON / Oakville Trafalgar) continues to lead the Jaspers with a .250 hitting percentage (9th MAAC).
• Sophomore Vivian Donovan (Newport Beach, CA / Newport Harbor) is second in the league with 0.44 aces per set, while freshman Lizzi Brown (Orlando, FL / Bishop Moore) is third with 0.40 each time out.
• Sophomore Abby Wilde (Parkesberg, PA  / Octorora) is sixth in the MAAC with 7.38 assists per game, while McKee is seventh during league play with 8.20 helpers per set.
• Donovan (2.7), Menocal (2.1) and Brown (2.0) are all averaging at least two kills per set during league play.
• Manhattan will be looking to snap a five-match losing streak to Iona, last besting the Gaels in four sets on September 14, 2016.
• Jamie Smith paces Iona in kills (2.8/set) and aces (0.36 per set) while Karla Johnson leads the Gaels in hitting (.293) and blocks (0.88 per set).
