Queens, NY - Manhattan volleyball dropped two matches Saturday, August 25 at the 2018 St. John's Kaiser Classic. In match one, the Jaspers fell to Central Connecticut State 3-0, while Eastern Michigan overtook Manhattan 3-0 in the second match of the day.Â
Match One:
- Senior hitter Olyvia Chaltas (Temecula, CA / Great Oak) notched a game-high 13 kills and 14 points, while sophomore Erin Hoener (St. Lous, MO / Incarnate Word) added seven kills.Â
- Freshman Shruti Mangipudi (San Ramon, CA / Dougherty Valley), starting her second game of the season, led all setters with 24 assists.Â
- Starting libero Alyssa Rehrer (Lorton, VA / South County) nabbed 26 digs, the most for either team in the match.Â
Match Two:
- Freshman Julia Menocal (Bronx, NY / Preston) led all players with three blocks.Â
- Senior Casey Monroe (Riverview, FL / Riverview) earned a team-high seven kills, the second most in the match.
- Rehrer compiled 16 digs, putting her career total over 1,100 and inching her closer to the program's top 10 list, behind former Jasper Kelsey Huntoon (2009-12), who sits at 1,147 all-time.Â
The Jaspers take on Cal State Fullerton Thursday, August 30 in Manhattan's first home match of the season. First serve will be at 5:00 pm in Draddy Gymnasium. Fans can watch live on the
