Riverdale, NY – Juniors Talia Price (Kinnelon, NJ / Kinnelon) and Molly Fitzpatrick (Yorktown, NY / Lakeland) each collected three points, but Monmouth took care of Manhattan 18-7 on Wednesday evening at Gaelic Park.

Thanks to the win, the Hawks clinch a spot in the 2018 MAAC Tournament with a 4-2 conference record and is 6-9 overall. The Jaspers fall to 5-10 on the season and 2-5 against MAAC foes.

Monmouth opened the scoring with three-straight goals before Price found the back of the net off a nifty pass from freshman Carmella Liscio (Blauvelt, NY / Tappan Zee) with 24:19 to play in the opening stanza.

The Hawks would quickly respond with a pair of scores before Price found co-captain Kara Hodapp (Oak Ridge, NJ / Jefferson Township) for the first of back-to-back scores for the senior, trimming the deficit to 5-3 with just over 20 minutes remaining in the first half.

Monmouth would answer with six-straight goals in opening up an 11-3 advantage with 3:26 until halftime.

Alaina Burgess (Holden, MA / The Governor's Academy) and Fitzpatrick would quell the visitor's spurt with back-to-back goals to end the half before Fitzpatrick opened the second-half scoring in making it an 11-6 game with just over 24 minutes remaining.

Unfortunately, the Hawks would close out the game with a 7-1 spurt in providing the final 18-7 score.

Fitzpatrick had two goals and an assist while Hodapp found the back of the net twice. Price registered a goal and two assists to pace Manhattan.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
