Smithfield, RI -
Playing one of the top mid-major programs in Division I lacrosse, Manhattan battled Bryant before dropping a 15-7 decision at the Track & Turf Complex in the season opener for both teams.

Six different Jaspers found the back of the net, paced by junior Parker Giarratana's (Delray, FL / Boca Raton Community) two scores.

After the Bulldogs quickly opened the scoring with a pair of goals, Giarratana lit the lamp with an impressive over-the-shoulder goal with 7:28 to play in the first quarter.

Freshman Austin Collard (Wakefield, MA / Wakefield Memorial) found the back of the net for the second Manhattan goal in the second period when he fired a blast from midfield.

After halftime, sophomore Reid Martin (Buffalo, NY / Canisius) scored off a pass from classmate Luke Hanson (Middletown, NY / Minisink Valley) before freshman Sean MacKinney (Martinsville, NJ / Bridgewater-Raritan) followed suit just over a minute later.

MacKinney then fed sophomore Trevor Pelletier (Miami, FL / Gulliver Prep) for his first goal of the year as he beat the Bryant keeper to the left in registering the fifth Jasper score.

Giarratana scored his second goal in the fourth quarter before Hanson capped the scoring off a pass from freshman Jake Nicolosi (West Islip, NY / West Islip).

Freshman Brendan Krebs (Mineola, NY / Chaminade) was impressive between the pipes with seven saves off the bench.
