Manhattan Travels To Lafayette, Vermont This Week

Riverdale, NY – With the home opener in the rear view mirror, the Jaspers hit the road once again when they take on Lafayette and Vermont this week.
 
Manhattan faces off against the Leopards on Wednesday, February 28 at 7:00 pm, while the battle with the Catamounts starts at 1:00 pm on Saturday, March 3. Both games will be streamed and have live stats.
 
WEEK IN REVIEW
 
The Jaspers are coming off a 1-1 week, taking down Presbyterian last Monday and falling to Arizona State in Riverdale on Saturday.
 
Junior Molly Fitzpatrick led the way for Manhattan with 10 points, including seven against the Blue Hose. Senior captain Sarah Lang tallied seven goals and has started the season with at least three goals in every game.

ROOKIE ROLLS
 
Freshman Carmella Liscio has developed into a solid contributor off the bench. The Blauvelt, NY native collected three goals and an assist against Presbyterian and Arizona State. She leads all rookies in points and games played.
 
SCOUTING THE LEOPARDS
 
Lafayette is 0-3 entering its matchup with the Jaspers, falling to Longwood, Binghamton and Temple. While the team averages over 13 goals per game, it also gives up 17 goals per contest.
 
Emma Novick and Jane Kirby head the Leopards' attack with 11 goals each. Hannah Davey is not far behind with eight points. Three different Leopards have seen time in the cage, with Quinn Lacy and Anna Raymond receiving the majority of the minutes.
 
This will be the sixth all-time meeting between Manhattan and Lafayette and the third straight year the teams square off. The Leopards lead the series 3-2 and have won the last three games. The Jaspers' last victory came in an 18-10 contest in 2009. Lang and Fitzpatrick have six career goals each against Lafayette.
 
SCOUTING THE CATAMOUNTS
 
Vermont enters the week at 1-2 and plays MAAC-rival Siena on Wednesday before the tilt against Manhattan.
 
Jenna Janes has a team-high nine goals and 10 points, while Elise Koehl has collected seven goals on 14 shots. Maddy Kuras has made every start in net, making 28 saves for a 12.38 goals-against average.
 
Saturday will mark the fourth time Manhattan and Vermont face one another. The Catamounts have the 2-1 edge with Manhattan's lone win coming in 2004. Vermont took the last game 11-5 back in 2016.
