Jersey City, NJ - The Manhattan Jaspers held Saint Peter's to their second-lowest scoring effort this season, beating the Peacocks 60-39 at the Yanitelli Center on Friday, February 23. Manhattan improves to 12-16 for the season and 9-8 in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC), while Saint Peter's falls to 4-24Â overall and 1-16Â in the league.

Kayla Grimme (Altoona PA / Altoona Area) led all scorers with 24 points, 11 of which came in the second half, helping the Jaspers break away from the Peacocks after an 8-point scoring effort in the first quarter. Grimme also pulled down a game-high seven rebounds and added two blocks. It's the 14th time this season she has led the Jaspers in scoring, and the 17th time she led the team in rebounding.Â
Amani Tatum (Cambria Heights, NY / James Madison) contributed eights points and six rebounds for the Jaspers, but also added five assists and six steals. Earning her fourth steal of the game in the first half, Tatum jumped former Jasper Donnette Reed (2001-05) for third on Manhattan's all-time steals list. Tatum now has 250 for her Jasper career.Â
The Jaspers held the lead for just over 34 minutes of the game, widening the gap in the second quarter by outscoring the Peacocks 22-12 in the period. Manhattan doubled Saint Peter's total points in the paint at 32-16, and scored 15 points off the Peacocks' 20 turnovers. Eleven players scored for Manhattan, and the 21-point win was the Jaspers' second-largest margin of victory this season.
At the end of conference play on Friday, the Jaspers find themselves in a three-way tie with Fairfield and Rider for fourth place in the MAAC. Manhattan faces Rider in the Jaspers' final game of the season on Sunday at 2 p.m., while Fairfield plays Iona at home on the same day.
