Manhattan Begins Busy Week At Lafayette

Fresh off a dominating win over VMI, Manhattan will hit the road for a road match-up at Lafayette on Tuesday, February 20 at 7:00 pm before facing off with Bellarmine in a neutral-site match-up on Saturday, February 24 at 5:00 pm on the campus of Widener University.

PARKER HITS PAYDIRT
Junior Parker Giarratana fueled the Jaspers' 12-7 win on Saturday with four goals and an assist and paces the squad with six goals, three assists and nine points. The 2016 MAAC Rookie of the Year now has five career four-goal performances en route to registering 66 goals and 26 assists over his two-plus years in Riverdale.
 

ZINGARO EN FUEGO
Senior Michael Zingaro stopped the first four shots he faced to set the tone for a dominating defensive performance against VMI before registering six saves in the fourth in putting Manhattan's 12-7 victory on ice. The senior netminder finished with 14 saves and has yielded less than 10 goals in three of his last four starts and has done so nine times in his career.

LOST IN THE SHUFFLE ...
Was the play of junior Dylan DeMuro and freshman Luke Pacher as the duo paced a defensive effort that yielded just seven goals, which is tied for the fewest allowed by a MAAC team this year. The duo combined for three forced turnovers and three ground balls.

ABOUT LAFAYETTE
The Leopards have won back-to-back matches and are 2-1 on the year. Lafayette is paced by the trio of Adam Close (5 goals, 3 assists), Conor Walters (5 goals, 3 assists) and Will McCarthy (4 goals, 3 assists).

LAST TIME VS. LAFAYETTE
Manhattan defeated the Leopards by an 8-7 count in Easton on April 8, 2014.

ALL-TIME HISTORY
The Jaspers lead the all-time series with Lafayette by a 3-0 count, including going 2-0 at Lafayette.

BELLARMINE ON TAP FOR SATURDAY
Manhattan and Bellarmine will play a neutral-site match-up at Widener University in Chester, PA on Saturday, February 24 at 5:00 pm. The Knights are 1-2 after picking up their first win of the season against Cleveland State and are led by the duo of Morgan Macko (5 goals, 6 assists) and Brian Wall (6 goals, 2 assists).

SERIES WITH BELLARMINE
The teams have split two previous match-ups with the Knights earning an 8-7 overtime win in 2008 after the Jaspers claimed an 8-7 double-overtime victory in 2007.

Head Coach Drew Kelleher went 2-0 against Lafayette while serving as an Assistant Coach at Boston University. Kelleher helped the Terriers earn the first win in program history against the Leopards by a 12-7 count on March 15, 2014.

Freshmen Justin Malpica and Jake Nicolosi each recorded their first collegiate goals in the win over VMI.

HANSON KEEPS IT UP
Sophomore Luke Hanson matched his career-high with two goals while adding an assist against VMI and is second on the team with four goals to go along with three assists.
