Jaspers Close Out Regular Season Road Schedule

Jersey City, NJ - Manhattan volleyball fell to Saint Peter's Sunday, November 4 in a five-set rematch with the Peacocks on their home court in Jersey City, NJ.

Highlights:
  • The Jaspers (4-24, 2-12 MAAC) won the first set 25-19, earning 11 kills on .259 hitting. But Manhattan was unable to sustain the attack, dropping the next two sets to Saint Peter's (7-24, 4-13 MAAC) 19-25 and 20-15. 
  • Fighting to stay alive in the fourth, the Jaspers came on strong, nabbing 14 kills on .293 hitting, the team's best performance on the match. Manhattan also held Saint Peter's to .132 hitting to win the set 25-19. But the Peacocks took the fifth 15-9 to prove victorious in the match.
  • Sophomore middle blocker Erin Hoener (St. Louis, MO / Incarnate Word) led Manhattan with 16 kills, tying her season high. Her .556 attack percentage is the team's highest performance this season (minimum of 12 kills). 
  • Two other Jaspers also earned double-digit kill performances: Vivian Donovan (Newport Beach, CA / Newport Harbor) added 12, while Kenza Hall (Oakland, CA / Middle Tennessee State) earned 10. 
  • Hall added a match-high five blocks to her day's performance. Hoener totaled three and Donovan two. 
  • Donovan, Hoener, and Sandra Lozanova (Pernik, Bulgaria / Fresno State) each served three aces to help along the Jaspers' service game. 
  • Setter Shruti Mangipudi (San Ramon, CA / Dougherty Valley) tallied 35 assists for Manhattan, a match-high. 
  • Karen Ramiu had 22 kills for Saint Peter's to lead the match. She also added three aces. Teammate Karla Seda nabbed 25 digs to lead all players. 
  • The Jaspers earned eight team blocks vs. Saint Peter's four in the match. 
  • The teams were tied at 50 kills apiece in the match, and the Jaspers earned 69 points to Saint Peter's 63.
