Buffalo, NY - Manhattan volleyball fell to Canisius in three sets Saturday, October 27, losing the first of the team's two matches in Western New York this weekend.
Manhattan drops to 4-21 on the year and 2-10 in the MAAC, while the Golden Griffins improve their record to 13-10 and 11-3 in conference.
Highlights:
- The Griffs held the advantage for most of the afternoon, winning 25-11, 25-22 and 25-15.
- Manhattan hit .122 for the day, with 18 total team kills, including 11 kills in the second set.
- Senior Kenza Hall (Oakland, CA / Middle Tennessee State) posted a match-high three blocks for Manhattan, while Vivian Donovan (Newport Beach, CA / Newport Harbor) and Meagan Miller (Oakville, Ontario / Oakville Trafalgar) added one a piece.
- Donovan led Manhattan in kills with six, bringing her MAAC play total to 100 kills. She is averaging 2.78 kills per set in MAAC matches, a team high. She also led the Jaspers in digs at six and added an ace.
- Miller, a middle blocker, had two aces in the match to lead Manhattan. She is averaging more than six assists per set to rank 10th in the MAAC this season.
- Starting setter Shruti Mangipudi (San Ramon, CA / Dougherty Valley) earned a team-high 14 assists.
