Buffalo, NY -
Manhattan women's basketball (5-10, 2-2 MAAC) faces the Canisius Golden Griffins (3-12, 1-3 MAAC) Thursday, January 11 at Koessler Athletic Center. The match-up begins at 7 p.m. and can be streamed live on ESPN3. This is the second time in exactly one week that the two teams have faced each other.

Top Storylines:
  • The Jaspers held Canisius to less than 40 points in a 58-39 victory over the Griffs on January 4 in Riverdale. Senior guard Amani Tatum (Cambria Heights, NY / James Madison) led all scorers with 13 points, while freshman Lizahya Morgan (East Hartford, CT / Capital Preparatory Magnet) netted a career-high 10 points.
  • The Jaspers out-rebounded Canisius 44-30 in their last game, including 32 defensive boards. Freshman center Courtney Warley (West Chester, PA / Bishop Shanahan) pulled down 11 rebounds, her best effort since she grabbed 12 at LIU Brooklyn on December 16.
  • Senior center Kayla Grimme (Altoona, PA / Altoona Area) sits at 1,188 career points and 806 career rebounds. Should she reach the 1,200-point mark, Grimme will join just four other Manhattan women's basketball players who have reached both the 1,200-point and 800-rebound thresholds in their careers: all-time leading rebounder Rosalee Mason (1,875 points, 1,217 rebounds), Gina Somma (1,838 points, 819 rebounds), Stacey Jack (1,665 points, 823 rebounds), and current Manhattan Athletic Director Marianne Reilly (1,305 points, 860 rebounds).
  • Canisius leads the all-time series 34-25. The Griffs last defeated the Jaspers on February 2, 2017 at Koessler Athletic Center. Tatum led Manhattan with 17 points in the 58-48 loss, while Grimme and Mikki Guiton (Schwenksville, PA / Perkiomen) both registered a double-double, the last time two Jaspers tallied double-doubles in the same game.
  • The Jaspers have played 118 games without going into overtime, one of the longest active non-overtime streaks in Division I. Manhattan last played an overtime game on January 23, 2014, losing to Niagara 71-67. The Jaspers will face the Purple Eagles next, on Saturday, January 13.
