Vestal, NY -
Manhattan dropped a 2-1 decision to Binghamton in non-conference action at the Bearcats Sports Complex.

In defeat, the Jaspers are now 1-1 while the Bearcats improve to 2-0.

Trailing by one at the break, Manhattan came roaring out of the gates as freshman Lindsey Healy (Sussex, NJ / Pope John XXIII Regional) found the back of the net off a pass from classmate Sophie Demurjian (Manasquan, NJ / Red Bank Catholic) just 41 seconds into the second half.

Unfortunately, Binghamton responded in the 54th minute as Sam O'Malley blasted a shot from 25 years out into the upper left corner of the goal.

The Jaspers would pepper Kate Hatziyianis with three shots on goal over the final 13-plus minutes of the afternoon but were denied each time.

In the first half, Saager opened the scoring with a goal off a pass from Sam O'Malley.

For the game, the Bearcats owned a 7-4 advantage in corner kicks with each team registering nine shots.
