Fairfield, CT - Ten different players hit safely as Manahttan pounded Fairfield 13-6 in the series finale between the teams at Alumni Diamond.

The Jaspers improve to 7-19 and 4-5 in the MAAC with their fifth-straight Sunday victory while the Stags fall to 12-14 and 4-2 in the league.

Senior RHP Joey Rocchietti (Green Brook, NJ / Watchung Hills) didn't walk a batter over 7.0 supurb innings of work while yielding six runs on 11 hits with three strikeouts.

After being limited to just four runs yesterday, Manhattan quickly struck for three runs in the top of the first. Junior Brendan Bisset (New City, NY / Don Bosco Prep) and senior Jose Carrera (Miami, FL / St. Brendan) each singled before classmate Jason Patnick deposited a three-run homer over the left field fence.

The Jaspers added to their lead in the third with five runs in opening up an insurmountable 8-0 advantage. Carrera singled with one out before moving to second on a fielding error and third on a balk before ultimately scoring on a wild pitch. Patnick then drew a walk and sophomore Fabian Pena (Miami, FL / Calusa Prep) reached via an infield hit. Senior Evan Brown (Ashburnham, MA / Bridgton Academy (ME)) followed with Manhattan's second three-run shot of the game, blasting a pitch deep over the right field fence. Junior Michael Pfenninger (Flemington, NJ / Hunterdon Central) later capped the Jaspers' big frame with his first career home run.

Meanwhile, Rocchietti was aces over his first three innings of work in facing the minimum nine hitters and didn't allow a runner to reach safely before Fairfield finally notched an infield single with two outs in the fourth.

The Stags got on the board with a run in the fifth but the damage could have been worse as Rocchietti left the bases loaded.

Manhattan immediately answered with two runs in the top of the sixth in opening up a 10-1 lead. Senior Matt Forlow (Cold Spring, NY / Haldane) led off with a walk before stealing second. Freshman Alex Cerda (Miami, FL / Florida Christian School) then traded places with Forlow thanks to a RBI double before coming around to score on a Bisset RBI single.

Fairfield trimmed the lead to 10-4 on a Troy Scocca three-run shot in the bottom part of the frame before Rocchietti regrouped and got the next three hitters without incident.

The Jasper bats continued to pour It on in the top of the seventh as the visitors quickly got those three runs back. Brown singled with one out before coming in to score on pinch-hitter Richie Barrella's (So., Larchmont, NY / Canterbury Prep) RBI double. After Pfenninger reached on an error, Forlow notched a two-run double to right field in extending the lead out to 13-4.

In the bottom part of the frame, Kevin Radziewicz delivered a two-run single to make it a 13-6 game before Rocchietti again buckled down and got the next two hits in capping his solid seven-inning performance.

Senior RHP Shawn Kanwisher (Washington Township, NJ / St. Joseph Regional) entered in the eighth and fired 2.0 perfect innings in closing out the victory.

Carrera and Pena each had three hits while Brown, Patnick and Pfenninger all went yard to pace a 16-hit Manhattan onslaught.

Radziewicz went 3-for-4 with two RBI to lead the way for the Stags. Kyle Dube struck out five but allowed eight runs on seven hits over 3.0 innings in being saddled with the loss.

The Jaspers will next be in action at Army West Point on Tuesday, April 11 with first pitch tabbed for 3:30 pm.
