Riverdale, NY - Sophomore Parker Giarratana (Delray, FL / Boca Raton Community) scored the game-winning 23 seconds into triple overtime in lifting Manhattan to a 14-13 win over Wagner.

With the win, the Jaspers improve to 1-1 while the Seahawks drop to 0-1.
Manhattan raced out to early 9-4 lead in the second quarter and appeared poised for an easy victory. During the spurt, freshman Trevor Pelletier (Miami, FL / Gulliver Prep) found the back of the net three times while Giarratana lit the lamp twice.
Unfortunately, Wagner rallied for three-straight goals en route to posting a game-changing 6-1 run that put the score at a 10-10 deadlock after three.
The Jaspers quickly answered with a Matt Garvey (Sr., Essex Falls, NJ / West Essex) goal only to see the Seahawks respond immediately. The teams continued to alternate goals the rest of the fourth quarter as the game went to overtime tied at 13-13.
In overtime, each team hit the post in the first session before failing to capitalize on numerous opportunities in the second period.
Junior Joseph Bressingham (Glen Cove, NY / Nassau CC) won the face-off in the third extra stanza before finding Giarratana, who took care of business while giving Head Coach Drew Kelleher his first career win at Gaelic Park.
Garvey, Giarratana and Pelletier each notched three goals to pace Manhattan while junior Michael Zingaro (Cortlandt Manor, NY / Walter Panas) recorded 16 saves in earning the win. Bressingham was outstanding on face-offs, going 18-for-26, while also registering 10 ground balls.
Joe Lomeli led Wagner with three scores while Matt Sefcik had 13 stops.
The Jaspers will look to make it two in a row against Robert Morris on Saturday, February 18 at 11:00 am.
