Riverdale, NY - Manhattan College women's basketball opens 2017-18 conference play against Saint Peter's at Draddy Gymnasium on Thursday, December 28 at 7 p.m. This is the first Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) game for the Peacocks, as well. 

Top Storylines:

• The Jaspers are 31-52 all-time against Saint Peter's, but 7-1 for the last eight meetings. The teams will meet again on Friday, February 23 at Saint Peter's.
• The Jaspers and Peacocks last met on January 30, 2017, with the Jaspers taking the win 57-44. Kayla Grimme (Altoona, PA / Altoona Area) registered what was at the time a career-high 27 points and added nine rebounds to lead Manhattan. 
• Grimme now ranks 14th on the Jaspers' all-time scoring list at 1,143 points. She sits just behind Christine Lardon (1,154) who played 107 games for Manhattan from 1988-92.
• Senior guard Amani Tatum (Cambria Heights, NY / James Madison) currently leads the MAAC in four categories: assists (51), assists per game (4.6), steals (36), and steals per game (3.27). She ranks among Division I's top 20 players in steals per game and the top 21 in steals overall this season. 
• Saint Peter's comes into Thursday's matchup on a six-game skid, most recently losing to Fairleigh Dickinson 69-59 on December 21. Senior guard/forward Talah Hughes leads the Peacocks' offense with 10.4 points per game. She is also second on the team with 6.2 rebounds per game. Alyssa Velles follows Hughes with 9.5 points per game and a 40.6 percent three-point shooting average.
• As of December 23, 2017, the MAAC ranks fourth in the nation in strength of schedule as a conference. The league trails only the Big East, the Pac-12, and Southeastern in conference strength of schedule.
