RIVERDALE, NY – The Manhattan College men's and women's swimming & diving teams each concluded their home schedule with a dominant victory over Baruch on Tuesday night at the Ethical & Cultural Fieldston School.   The Jasper women notched a 112-68 win, while the men's team earned a 102-68 triumph.

Prior to the meet, Manhattan honored its eight graduating seniors—Sara Buckley (East Setauket, NY), Patricia Colton (Washingtonville, NY), Dylan Cooney (Port Jervis, NY), Tom Fitzgerald (Brooklyn, NY), Peter Hubbell (Cold Spring Harbor, NY), Rich Llewellyn (East Islip, NY), Christopher Reyes (Queens, NY) and Patrick Simonson (Metuchen, NJ).

One of the team's Senior Night traditions is that the seniors make the lineup for the meet, which resulted in some swimmers being entered in different events or distances than they normally would.  The changes didn't seem to faze the Jaspers, though, as Manhattan earned the win in every event.

“It was a great senior meet,” Head Coach Joe Murtha said.  “The senior class put together the lineup, and we had a lot of fun mixing up events tonight.  We were also able to see how people would respond swimming alternative events.”

Hubbell, Llewellyn and Reyes got their Senior Night started on the right note, as they were all members of the Jaspers' victorious 200 yard medley relay squad along with Timothy Valentine (Massapequa, NY).  Reyes also won the 50 yard freestyle (22.73), making him one of two multi-event winners on Tuesday.  The other was Tyler McCloskey (Orangeburg, NY), who took first in in the 200 yard individual medley (2:07.02) and 100 yard backstroke (59.74).

Neil Perry (Elkridge, MD) won the 100 yard freestyle in a time of 50.58 seconds, and Evan Battisti (East Meadow, NY) earned the win in the 200 yard freestyle with a 1:52.94 clocking.  Tyler Askew (Johnstown, NY), meanwhile, finished the 100 yard butterfly in 58.15 seconds.

On the women's side, Manhattan's only double winner was Megan Pagano (Lagrangeville, NY), who took first in the 100 backstroke (1:06.57) while also swimming the leadoff leg on the victorious 200 medley relay team.  She was joined in the medley relay by Klaudia Nagrabska (Belmont, MA), Kathryn Voitik (Moscow, PA) and Genna Lederer (Blauvelt, NY).

Kali Nembach (Lynbrook, NY) won the 50 freestyle in 26.69 seconds, while Morgan Fountain's (Cheshire, CT) time of 59.37 seconds earned her the victory in the 100 freestyle.  Carolyn Crocker (Broad Channel, NY), who swam on one of Manhattan's other entries in the medley relay, returned to the pool minutes later for the 200 freestyle, where she posted a winning time of 2:07.16.  Crocker also finished second to Abie DeLisio (Woodstock, NY) in the 500 yard freestyle.  DeLisio's time was 5:38.97.  Audrey Corcoran (West Boylston, MA) registered a time of 2:21.97 to secure the win in the 200 individual medley, and Cassandra Rubino (Thiells, NY) captured first place in the 100 butterfly (1:04.98).

Manhattan has one meet remaining before the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Championships.  The Jaspers visit rival Iona at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
