Game 1 Recap:
Marist took advantage of five Manhattan errors en route to recording a 13-7 win in game one at McCann Field.

Freshman Fabian Pena (Miami, FL / Calusa Prep) continued his outstanding rookie season, finishing 2-for-3 with his fourth home run of the year, a sacrifice fly and a walk. Senior Christian Santisteban matched Pena with two RBI while going 2-for-4 with a double and a run. Freshman Anthony Rocchietti (Green Brook, NJ / Watchung) rounded out the multi-hit performers, finishing up 2-for-4.

The Red Foxes scored seven runs in the decisive second inning before the Jaspers quickly answered with two in the third. Junior Jose Carrera (Miami, FL / St. Brendan) led off with a walk and freshman Richie Barrella (Larchmont, NY / Canterbury Prep) followed with a single. Santisteban then plated Carrera with a run-scoring double before Pena followed with a sacrifice fly.

Marist immediately got those two runs back in the bottom part of the frame and added three more in the fourth in opening up a 12-2 advantage.

Pena trimmed the deficit to 12-3 in the fifth with a solo home run to left field.

The Jaspers would add two more runs in each of their last two trips to the plate sandwiched between a Red Fox score in providing the final 13-7 margin.

Anthony Lazar went 2-for-5 with three runs and two RBI to pace five multi-hit performers for the Red Foxes.

Sophomore LHP Tom Cosgrove (Staten Island, NY / Farrell) was saddled with the loss, yielding seven earned runs over 3.1 innings with three strikeouts.

Sean Keenan (5-2) earned the win, striking out five while yielding five runs on eight hits and three walks over 7.0 innings.

Game 2 Recap:

The Red Foxes scored 14 runs in the decisive second inning while batting around.

Pena went 1-for-3 with his second home run of the doubleheader and fifth of the year with two RBI to pace a Jasper squad that had eight players reach safely.
