Wappingers Falls, NY - Senior Christian Santisteban's (Miami, FL / Gulliver Prep) ninth-inning RBI single lifted Manhattan to a 4-3 win over Canisius at Dutchess Stadium while giving head coach Jim Duffy his 100th career victory in the process.

The Jaspers' thrilling two-out rally began when junior Jose Carrera (Miami, FL / St. Brendan) worked a 12-pitch walk. The Sunshine State native then stole second before advancing to third on freshman Richie Barrella's (Larchmont, NY / Canterbury Prep) third hit of the day, an infield single to short. Santisteban followed with a shot back up the middle that plated Carrera while capping a 4-for-5 day at the plate.

With the victory, Manhattan snapped an eight-game losing streak to the Golden Griffins while improving to 8-19 and 2-4 in the MAAC. Defending MAAC Champion Canisius falls to 15-16 and 6-3 in the league.

Lost amid the walk-off drama was the virtuoso performance by Joey Rocchietti (Green Brook, NJ / Watchung). The junior righty improved to 3-3, striking out three while scattering two earned runs in notching his first career 9.0-inning complete game.

The Golden Griffins opened up the scoring with an unearned run in the top of the fifth as Mark McKenna's two-out single through the right side forced in Adam Tricarico.

Canisius added to the lead with two more runs the next time up in assuming a 3-0 lead. Anthony Massicci plated Ryan Stekl with a run-scoring ground out before Liam Wilson crossed the plate on an Adam Tricarico single.

Manhattan immediately rallied in the bottom part of the frame as Barrella drew a walk before Santisteban singled through the right side while forcing Nolan Hunt from the game. Freshman Fabian Pena greeted reliever Andrew Sipowicz with a three-run blast to left field to tie the game up at 3-3.

In the top of the seventh, the Golden Griffins put runners on the corners with two outs and appeared poised to reclaim the lead. Rocchietti rose to the occasion, inducing an inning-ending fly out before retiring the side in order in each of the visitor's final two trips to the plate.

The Jaspers outhit Canisius by a 10-7 count while also having eight of their nine regulars reach base safely.

Manhattan will look to make it two in a row at Army West Point on Tuesday, April 12 with first pitch now slated for 3:30 pm.
