Riverdale, NY - Bucknell scored five of the first six goals en route to posting a 19-11 wire-to-wire victory over Manhattan at Gaelic Park.
With the win, the Bison improve to 3-1 while the Jaspers fall to 2-3.
Trailing 5-1 in the opening half, Kara Hodapp (So., Oak Ridge, NJ / Jefferson Township) notched a pair of goals while sparking a 4-1 spurt. Junior Darby Nolan (Oakridge, NJ / Jefferson Township) and senior Megan Yarusso (Brewster, NY / Brewster) capped the scoring while drawing Manhattan to within one at 6-5 with 14:30 to play until the break.
After the teams traded goals, Bucknell reclaimed control of the game by ripping off a half-ending 5-1 run in jumping in front 12-7 at intermission.
In the second half, seniors Claire Roediger (Katonah, NY / Somers) and Stefanie Ranagan (Yorktown Heights, NY / Yorktown) each scored two goals but it wouldn't be enough as the Jaspers dropped their second-straight game.
Roediger scored three goals while adding two assists to pace the Manhattan offense while Yarusso added two goals and two assists.
Senior Kaitlyn Cunningham (Spring Lake, NY / Red Bank Catholic) notched a team-high four ground balls to lead the defense.
Maddy Molinari led the way for Bucknell, finishing with a game-high five goals.
The Jaspers return to action at Mount St. Mary's on Saturday, March 12 with first draw slated for 3:00 pm.
