Hamden, CT - Fueled by a second-half outburst, Quinnipiac shut out Manhattan 4-0 in MAAC action at the QU Soccer Field.

The Bobcats improve to 6-5-1 and 2-1 in the MAAC while the Jaspers fall to 0-9-1 and 0-3 in the league.

In the opening stanza, the action was even throughout most of the first 45 minutes with Quinnipiac opening the scoring thanks to a Ryan Scheiderman goal off a penalty kick in the 24th minute.

After halftime, the Bobcats were able to take advantage of a pressing Manhattan attack in notching three goals over the final 14-plus minutes of action.

Eamon Whelan scored twice to pace Quinnipiac, which outshot the visitors by a 12-7 count.

Sophomore Connor Hayes (El Dorado Hills, CA / Oak Ridge) made three saves between the pipes while Chrys Iakovidis also had three stops in earning the win.

Manhattan returns to action on Saturday, October 8 when the Jaspers host Saint Peter's with opening kick slated for 7:00 pm.
