RIVERDALE, NY – Facing Saint Peter's for the second time in four days, the Manhattan College volleyball team put forth a dominant offensive effort on Wednesday night.  The Jaspers (8-17, 4-7 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference) hit .329 (36 kills, 11 errors, 76 attempts) as a team in a 25-14, 25-12, 25-16 victory over the Peacocks (0-17, 0-10 MAAC) at Draddy Gymnasium.  It was Manhattan's second straight win and third in its last four matches.

Ivana Kostic (Grocka, Serbia) and Marissa Behrens (Honolulu, HI) combined for 19 kills on .667 hitting.  Kostic hit .643 with a match-high 10 kills, while Behrens finished with nine kills without an error for a .692 hitting percentage.  Sandra Lozanova (Pernik, Bulgaria) also registered nine kills to go along with four blocks, and Milena Janjusevic (Belgrade, Serbia) tallied eight digs and five of the Jaspers' season-high 11 service aces.  Zoe Lindsey (McHenry, IL), meanwhile, distributed 33 assists.  Manhattan outdug Saint Peter's 37-25, with Alyssa Rehrer (Lorton, VA) notching a match-high 10 digs and Allie Yamashiro (Kapolei, HI) adding nine digs.

The Jaspers seized control immediately, going on a 14-0 run early in the first set.  All four of Janjusevic's aces came during the spurt, as Manhattan jumped out to a 15-1 lead.  After a Behrens kill brought the Jaspers to set point at 24-10, Saint Peter's fought off four opportunities before Manhattan closed out the frame, 25-14.

It was more of the same in the second set, as Manhattan went up 8-3 on a Rehrer ace.  A Kostic ace made it 13-6, but Saint Peter's responded with four of the next six points to trim its deficit to five, 15-10.  However, the Jaspers countered with an 8-1 rally to increase its cushion to 23-11, and Manhattan took the set by a 25-12 count.  The Jaspers hit .500 in the second set, smashing 12 kills on just three errors in 18 attempts.

In the third set, there were seven early ties before Saint Peter's took its first lead of the match at 11-10.  That lead would be short-lived, however, as Janjusevic slammed a kill to tie the score and spark at 5-0 run that put Manhattan up 15-11.  The Jaspers increased their advantage to eight at 21-13 and capped the victory with a 25-16 set win.  Manhattan's team hitting percentage in the third set was .344 (14-3-32).

Kristina Nieves had five kills on .571 hitting for Saint Peter's.  She added three blocks.  Marlena   Budna and Meredith Przybocki each tallied five kills and three blocks, as well.  Kaitlyn Sitton dished out a team-best 12 assists to go along with six digs, while Amanda Colombo contributed six digs of her own.  The Peacocks hit .084 (24-17-83) in the match.

Manhattan continues its three-match homestand with a 1 p.m. contest against Quinnipiac (16-7, 8-2 MAAC) on Saturday.  The Bobcats posted a 3-0 victory over the Jaspers when the squads met in Connecticut on Sept. 25.
